For my graphic design studies, I undertook an event branding project focused on creating a poster for an art show dedicated to one of my favorite artists, Salvador Dalí. The objective was to design a compelling and visually striking poster that captures the essence of Dalí's work. I chose "The Temptation of St. Anthony" as the centerpiece of my project. The task involved deconstructing this iconic painting, identifying key elements, and reimagining them to create a cohesive and engaging promotional piece for the hypothetical art show.
Concept and Inspiration
Inspired by my admiration for surrealistic art and Salvador Dalí's unique style, I aimed to create a poster that encapsulates the fantastical and dreamlike qualities of "The Temptation of St. Anthony." By focusing on specific elements of the painting, such as the towering, spindly-legged elephants and the ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere, I sought to evoke the sense of wonder and curiosity that Dalí's work inspires. The poster design emphasizes the juxtaposition of the surreal and the real, using a color palette and composition that reflect Dalí's masterful blending of the bizarre with the beautiful. This project allowed me to explore the depths of surrealism and translate its core themes into a modern graphic design context.
